For my Photo II class, we were asked to create a series of ten photos for our final projects. They could be anything we wanted as long as it was a cohesive body of work. So I immediately wanted to tap into the darker, more uncomfortable side of my work. For some reason, my imagination just flies when it comes to taking the out-of-the-norm photographs. I teamed up with Katie Allen, a friend since elementary school who is an absolutely amazing make up artist. For this shoot, she was also the model and an excellent one at that. Only two of the photos from this shoot made the cut into my final series for class (the first one and one not pictured, shot in medium format film) but I loved all the photos I shot. This shoot was the first time in a long time that I remembered, "wow...this is why I love what I do" And that is the best reminder, the best feeling you can have.
